à peine commencé, le mois de février passe par Poitiers pour présenter Pina Jackson in Mercemoriam. La poursuite des investigations sur THiRtEEn sera entrecoupée par la prise du rôle de MC dans la Speedbattle du Festival Antigel et la reprise du rôle de FC* dans Flipbook de B. Charmatz. A part les virus qui se dorent la pilule et tout le malheur du monde, tout va très bien…

Barely commenced, February passes through the Poitiers to present Pina Jackson in Mercemoriam. Continued investigations of THiRtEEn will be interrupted for the role of MC in Speedbattle for the Festival Antifreeze and also for the resumption of the role of FC* in Flipbook by B. Charmatz.

Recently returned from New York, Foofwa is working on THiRtEEn, a piece for three dancers: Marthe Krummenacher, Anja Schmidt and himself, to be presented April 5 2012, along with the Chamber Orchestra of Geneva, to celebrate the 100th birthday of John Cage. Drawing on his methods and thoughts, a dance of indeterminacy and interdependence is formed.
The OCG, led by David Greilsammer, will play Thirteen, created in 1992, the year of the departure of John Cage, in which 13 musicians play for about 30 minutes.

De retour de New York, Foofwa travaille à THiRtEEn, pièce pour 3 danseur-euse-s : Marthe Krummenacher, Anja Schmidt et lui-même, qui sera présentée le 5 avril, en compagnie de l'Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, pour fêter le centième anniversaire de John Cage. S'inspirant des méthodes et pensées de ce dernier, il met en forme une danse de l'indétermination et de l'interdépendance.
L'OCG, dirigé par David Greilsammer, jouera Thirteen, pièce pour 13 instrumentistes d'environ 30 minutes, qui fut créée en 1992, année de la disparition de Cage.

L'été est fini et l'automne tire à sa fin…
Vivement l'hiver, qu'on puisse penser au printemps !
Il y a eu la Bâtie de Genève, avec LaréduQ, une pièce chargée de toutes sorte de parfums, Do You Hav'Faillheur(t)?, une exploration des entrailles de la démocratie, Histoires Condansées, un plaisir partagé de revenir sur un siècle de danse.
Il y a eu Pina Jackson in Mercemoriam au Pôle Sud de Strasbourg et Au Contraire à la Balsamine de Bruxelles, et il y a eu Quai du Sujet au CCN de Rillieux-la-Pape.
Une tournée en France jusqu'à la fin du mois, pour présenter d'autres aspects du travail de Foofwa : spectacles, enseignement, transmission, vidéos, le joyeux mélange des genres et des moyens pour dire l'amour du corps en mouvements, du corps expression de jaillissements et de perfections instantanées…
En décembre, ce sera le retour en Suisse, avec une incartade à Aix-en-Provence, et la mise en route des créations 2012 :
- avec l'Orchestre de Chambre de Genève pour fêter les cent ans de John Cage!
- trois petits tours aux Etats Unis d'Amérique du Nord pour prendre le pouls de l'ouest…
- une création pour la Fenice, à Venise, en juillet.
- et le développement du projet Live & Dance à travers le monde, méditerranéen et humain, qui s'appellera probablement Live & Dance & Die…

Foofwa will teach Free Classes for Professionals starting 1 July to 2 September. To see the dates of all the classes, please see the Calendar.
Classes will be from 10h-11h15 @ Studio Consuelo, 44 Coulouvrenière 2e étage in Geneva, Switzerland.

Foofwa will present his "Merce-Art Forever!" documentary videos in Marseille & Vincennes

Foofwa présentera son travail de documentation vidéo Merce-Art Forever! à Marseille le mardi 21 juin à 18:30, Salle Vallier (à l'invitation de Marseille Objectif Danse),
et à Vincennes le vendredi 24 juin à 19:00, Atelier de Paris Carolyn Carlson (à l'invitation de J-M Adolphe).
Le 22 juin, il participera, toujours à la salle Vallier de Marseille, à une rencontre-débat avec David Vaughan, archiviste de la Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

Music dancerun video created for La Bâtie-Festival

A new video created for La Bâtie-Festival just came out. On peut pas être tranquille le dimanche?!, a music dancerun, was shot in one day in several cultural places in Geneva, with Séni running and playing trombone, Foofwa dancerunning, and Pascal Dupoy videotaping on roller. A real call to vitality and creativity!
